Terre D'Hermes Eau Intense Vertiver (sample)

Sensitive by Serena Isioma

This is largely a masculine scent, marketed for men, and smells like it. This is a nice classic fragrance that is clean and also interesting. The first notes that spring from this scent are fruity and sprightly in their nature. An amalgamation of citrus, warm, spicy, peppery, juicy, yummy fruity green notes with a timid floral heart that vies and plays for your attention, and then it all dries down ... Into a cool but still warm and spicy calm scent - it's addictively good. If you're looking for a scent that ticks all the boxes and won't repel the ladies/gentlemen of this world - this is it.

Top Notes - Orange, Grapefruit.
Middle Notes - Pepper, Pelargonium.
Base Notes - Vetiver, Cedar, Patchouli, Benzoin.

Many times men's fragrances can be a bit boring and brutish - literally, BRUT is a thing (shh I quite like the scent). This fragrance has character and edge, it borders the line between bearing the DNA of many other masculine scents but also steps outside of their reach with its own smoky, autumnal and sunny disposition.

Is it a youthful fragrance? Not really but, in the perfect setting - at work - it could fit with literally all ages, and even genders if you're a lady whose more partial to patchouli & vetiver than wafts of roses and geraniums in your perfumes. When it dries down completely this scent reminds me of  Molton Brown's Black Peppercorn (now called Black Pepper) shower gel. Peppery spicy fragrances usually are not what I gravitate toward but, for some reason, I enjoy this - perhaps it's the nostalgia I have with Molton Brown shower gels but either way, this is a classic, comforting scent that invokes intrigue and whispers the word - luxury.

Projection - Good
Longevity - Great
Complexity - Interesting
Ad Campaign - Well Done

End Thoughts: I like it but right now - I'll enjoy it from the sidelines as a spectator. Let the men keep their trophies for once.
