Rae Morris #10 Tapered Oval Shadow Brush

When Wayne Goss said Rae Morris is good, it has to be good. And so I bought it.

I have been lusting after the full professional set since gossmakeupartist first introduced Rae Morris brushes to the world. I still do not own that full professional set of brushes because that will cost 4 digits to get to Singapore. But I did my research and picked up just one brush out of so many, and that is the #10 Tapered Oval Shadow Brush.

Brush Make
The Rae Morris brush handle is made of fine wood with gloss over it and the name of the brush carved into it. The end of it has been tapered off, and printed with Rae Morris' signature. It has a gold coloured barrel that suits my tastes very well.

Bristles
The bristles are made from natural hair and are very soft to touch. Not the softest in the world, but functional and picks up a lot of eyeshadows very well!

Shape of Bristles
I LOVE the way this brush is cut. When Rae Morris calls it tapered, he means tapered on both the flat side of the brush and the side-view of the brush. This allows for the user to pick up as little or as much eyeshadow as desired. And it also allows perfect, seamless blending regardless of eye shape or size of eye.

Uses
The reason I am head over heels with this brush is that it is an all-over eyelid kind of brush. It is kind of like the bigger version of a M.A.C 217 blending brush; not the same shape as M.A.C 217, but does EVERYTHING you can possibly want to do with your eye (except lining).

I use it for packing eyeshadow all over. I use it for putting contour colour in the crease of my eye. I use it for blending out harsh lines. I use the pointed end for making that soft wing shape at the corner of my eyes. It is that one-for-all magic brush.

Price
I am guessing that Rae Morris actually phased out his wooden brush set and has replaced all of them with black handles, calling them the deluxe set, so I can't actually find the price at which I bought this brush. I remember I bought it at a rather reasonable price, not cheap, but okay compared to M.A.C.

If you want to buy the Oval Shadow brush, it is still #10, but in black handle. The shape looks slightly different. You can find it at the link here: http://raemorris.com/products/brush-10-deluxe-oval-shadow The prices have increased though.

Rating: 5/5
The Rae Morris #10 Tapered Oval Shadow Brush has made its ranks amongst my excessive collection of brushes. I now use it all the time because it is a quick-worker, very efficient and effective for morning-makeup in a rush.

PS: I am very glad that I bought the wooden handle brush before he phased it out.
